The Educational Arts Corporation (EAC)
~Embracing the arts. Inspiring character.~
MISSION
The Educational Arts Corporation (EAC) was formed to expose K-12 “at risk” and underprivileged students to the arts. We believe that the arts are a powerful tool in teaching positive character traits. Our organization uses the arts as a vehicle to teach students how to effectively respond to problem situations that they may face in school. EAC recruits artists, teachers and mentors to assist us in offering programs that will teach students how to write and film short movies, produce dance recitals and stage theatrical productions. In addition, EAC also sponsors special events involving the public performance of any or all of the above art forms by partnering with community arts groups. Our goal is to promote good citizenship and to directly engage in the promotion of learning by exposing students to the arts. Please see our "Artist Residency Programs" webpage for additional details.

PROGRAMS
EAC artists work with teachers and students for a semester or annual term. Our programs are designed with a focus on integrated arts curriculum as a means to supplement what students are already learning in the classroom. You will find that our curriculum is in alignment with the Alabama Course of Study: Arts Education for increased student outcomes. In addition, we will work with teachers and administrators to develop a program tailored to meet your school's needs. Please see our "Artist Residency Programs" webpage for additional details.
RESEARCH
Studies conducted by researchers for the U.S. Department of Justice demonstrate increased pro-social behavior among youth involved with arts programs. Students also show increased ability to work on tasks from start to finish, which is vital for both academic and vocational success. The arts contribute in numerous ways to academic achievement, student engagement and social skills.
